Piano Lessons
Along with teaching standard note reading, we also teach improvisation and chord playing. Many students enjoy selecting pop songs and movie hits to learn in addition to their classical repertoire. We use theory games near the end of each lesson to reinforce note reading and rhythm concepts in a fun and engaging way. We recognize that each student has a unique learning style and attention span.
Younger students (ages 4-6) may do best with less time sitting on the bench. This is done through incorporating singing, clapping, movement and games into the lesson time.
Individual Lessons
Where are lessons held?
Teachers travel to your home. Most of our students live in St Paul, MN.
How often are lessons and how long do they last?
Lessons are weekly and 30 minutes in length. Some siblings share a 60 or 90 minute time frame.
What is the cost of lessons?
Lesson tuition is through monthly online payments. The amount does not change from month to month. If you miss a lesson, you are still charged the same amount each month.
30 minute weekly lessons - $160 per month
60 minute weekly lessons - $320 per month
What do I need?
In order to start lessons, you will need a piano that holds its tune and has a bench, all working keys, and pedal. If you don’t have a piano, a full-size keyboard is fine, however the keyboard needs to have 88 weighted keys, a bench, and a pedal.
